In People Coaching Each Other
This forum is brand new. For the moment there is no code of conduct, but if people start to use it as intended, then some kind of charter for what is considered productive conduct will be necessary. I would love to hear what kind of rules, guidelines or values you think might be important. I have a few ideas for non-negotiables that will be hard and fast rules, like: - being polite, respectful, and frankly, kind - behaving at all times with the will to support others through positive behaviour. - Everything is free. If you have something useful that people might be interested in and it's free please share. not selling anything. If it's not free or free at first but promoting something to be paid for, I'm afraid this is not that kind of site or forum. If you have a book or product that you think might be interesting to the members here, please get in contact. There may be a possibility to sell it through site shop (especially if there is a free version as well!!). - making everybody welcome and treating difference of culture and experience, or lack of experience and or lack of knowledge as important, valid and enriching. Racism, non-respect for gender equality, or non-respect for sexual preference and self identification will not be welcome here. There are other, more gentle policies that are perhaps more like values, such as not trying to solve other people's problems, not giving advice, asking creative thought provoking and solution oriented questions. I would certainly like for the general ethics of the forum to be alined with the ICF code of ethics found here: https://coachfederation.org/icf-ethics#:~:text=The%20ICF%20Code%20of%20Ethics,the%20Code%20in%20January%202020. Tell me what you think!

In How to be Your Own Coach
This is a place for people to discuss the skills, tools, and strategies that are key, or useful to coaching. It could also be a place to talk about coaching ethics. The definition of coaching used on this whole site is intended to be in line with the International Coach Federation (ICF). Here is a link to the ICF core coaching competencies that are required for all ICF accredited coaches - it might be an interesting place to start off if you want to find out about the foundations of how coaching works - https://coachfederation.org/core-competencies Here is a link to the ICF code of ethics as well. Again, interesting reading for anybody considering working professionally or as a coach or simply wishing to use coaching-style thinking, skills and values to support another person. https://coachfederation.org/icf-ethics#:~:text=The%20ICF%20Code%20of%20Ethics,the%20Code%20in%20January%202020.

In People Coaching Each Other
This category is for people interested in coaching, from complete beginners to the highly experienced. It is a place for people to bring challenges they face and experience support from others through open questions that come from a place of curiosity, metaphors and images. The way it works is somebody brings a situation or a challenge that they face and would be interested in receiving support with. People who wish to contribute ask the case bringer questions. They are open questions encourage creative What it is not is a page for people to solve each others problems or to give advice. It's tough to get used to, but also it is a place to put judgement of others to one side. Just ask questions with no right or wrong answer, read the answers, listen, feedback what you have heard - perhaps using the exact words the case giver has used, make factual observations - don't presume anything. If you know the answer to the question already, or think that the case giver should know the answer then it is not for this forum.
